Thank you to Community Club!

Thank you to our fabulous Community Club members for covering morning duties at Hillside! The annual staff breakfast was this morning, and the majority of Hillside's staff was able to attend. We appreciate our community so very much.

Hillside Geography Bee

A Geography Bee took place at Hillside Elementary on December 6th, and 6th grader Alex S. was the winner! The Hillside School level GeoBee was the first round of the 32nd annual National GeoBee, a geography competition designed to spark student interest and reward students’ curiosity about the world. Alex’s next step is to take a qualifying test to possibly qualify to compete in the Nebraska State Bee at UNO on March 27th, 2020. Please congratulate Alex and the other students who took part in the Hillside GeoBee!

Chipotle Fundraiser Coming on December 18 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Hillside's Chipotle fundraiser will be here Wednesday, December 18, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The address of the participating Chipotle restaurant is: 201 S. 72nd Street, Omaha, NE, 68114. Please consider having dinner at Chipotle that night, as 33% of the proceeds from your meal(s) will go directly to Hillside. You'll need a copy of the flyer (attached in this week's email) OR you can show the picture of the flyer (below) on your smartphone. Thank you for your support!

Winter Parties at Hillside: We Need Volunteers!

Community Club is planning winter parties for classrooms at Hillside for Friday, December 20th. Parties run from 2:30 - 3:15 p.m. The Community Club party organizers are looking for: 1 Room Parent, 1 Assistant, a snack, and water bottles for each classroom. District Winter Orchestra Concerts: December 17 and 19 at 7:00 p.m.

The 6th grade Winter Orchestra Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Westside High School. The 5th grade Winter Orchestra Concert will be held Thursday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Westside High School. Please come out to support our orchestra students!

Spirit Day at Hillside is Friday, December 20

Wear blue and/or orange or your Hillside spiritwear on Friday, December 20, to show your school spirit! Go, tigers!

Winter Break: December 21 - January 5

We will be on Winter Break from December 21 through January 5. We will see you back at Hillside on Monday, January 6. Have a safe, restful, and joyous holiday season!
