Principal's Updates - September 6, 2024
A few words from Mrs. Martin...
Parents,
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for getting our students to school on time. I have reviewed our tardy list and absence roster for August. We had very few tardies and unexcused absences. I appreciate everyone's cooperation!
Many of you have asked what is being built on the lot at the corner of Tchulahoma and Church Road, adjacent to the school. The most official-unofficial information, I have is it will hold a small office building and will have a number of green houses. More details to come as they are made available to us.
We will have a special Mass Wednesday, September 11,at 8:30am to commemorate the anniversary of 9-11. If you have a relative that is a law enforcement officer or a fireman, we would love for them to attend our Mass and receive a blessing for their service. If you have someone that will attend, please email me so we have appropriate seating.
Please remember to complete your E-Rate survey by Friday, September 13! PTO special lunch form also due September 13! See both forms below.
Enjoy the weekend!
Bridget B. Martin
Principal

Helping Your Child Manage Anxiety
The start of school can be challenging, as children may feel anxious about meeting new friends, adjusting to a new teacher and learning new routines. To help manage their anxiety, guide them to face their fears instead of avoiding them. Validate their feelings without escalating concerns, avoid leading questions and stay calm. Shorten anticipatory periods for stressful events and encourage gradual tolerance of anxiety. Teaching coping strategies can also make a big difference. For additional strategies, refer to the full article here.

A special lunch form is attached below. A hard copy will come home next week as well. The PTO will offer a $10.00 Domino's pizza and snow cone lunch. Your child may purchase this special lunch. If they do not want to purchase the pizza lunch, they may bring their own lunch or purchase a turkey sandwich lunch from the cafeteria. The cafeteria price is the normal cost of $4.00 a lunch. The special lunch form is due back no later than Friday, September 13.
E-Rate Survey
Each year we ask each family to complete the e-rate survey. This survey helps our school receive additional funds for items and services such as the internet. Please put your survey in an envelope and return it to school by September 13. We must have one from each family to qualify. If you have any questions, please let me know.
