NCS Letter to Families
Leap into Learning, 2024 - 2025!
April 2025
Dear Families,
Wow, I can not believe we are almost through this school year. We are not done yet. We still have some more events coming up (STEAMfest, 4-7 Field trip to Sweet Eats, and Field day). If you would like to help please just reach out.
Student Absences: We have several students who have come up on our truancy tracker recently because they have unexcused absences. Please provide excuses for your student's absences as soon as your student returns to school. You can send a written note, an email, or message through ClassDojo to Ms. Jamielyn.
We have STAAR testing this month on the 10, 17, & 24. Please make sure your student gets a good nights rest and eat a good breakfast. We have snacks and small bottles of water for them provided by our wonderful PTA. Thank you!
It is that time again for Credit by Exam registration. It is due no later than May 2, 2025.
Thank you for your continued support of our students, our campus and our staff.
Sincerely,
Dr. Wendy Gamble
Principal
Student Council
Book Drive
The student council will end the school year with a book drive. We will collect gently-used (and new) books and donate them to the Helping Hands Ministry, who we worked with before Christmas on a food drive. The book drive is tied into our school-wide project based learning on conservation. It is one tangible way for students to show how books can be reused once they have finished reading them.
End of Year Project-Based Learning Extravaganza!
Our Power, Our Planet
During the month of April, and in celebration of Earth Day - ‘Our Power, Our Planet’ - on April 22, each grade level will focus on one aspect of the importance and impact conservation and environmental issues have on our planet. This focus learning will culminate in an end-of-year school-wide Project-Based Learning (PBL) extravaganza to be showcased at STEAMFest on Friday, May 2.
Each grade level has there own area of focus.
- Kinder - Green Living & Green Heroes
- 1st & 2nd - The plastic problem
- 3rd, 6th & 7th - Fast Fashion
- 4th & 5th - Climate Change & Renewable Energy
