What Is Fluency?
Fluency is a term that is often used with our students, but do you know what this buzzword means? Fluency is a broad term that includes:
- Accuracy (reading the words correctly)
- Rate (reading at a good pace)
- Prosody (reading with expression)
- Comprehension (understanding what he/she has read)
Readers' Theater Practice
Students work on rate and expression by reading roles.
Independent Reading Practice
Students Practice Reading out loud with a timer and their IR book.
Using a Timer
Using a timer allows students to chart their rates and see improvement.
