Things to Know:
NEWS 5 WAKE UP CALL: THIRD GRADERS WELCOME LOCAL METEOROLOGIST CINDY FITZGIBBON:
The third-grade students at Ben Hem Elementary School were thrilled to welcome local meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon to their school. Ms. Fitzgibbon visited the school to teach the students about weather and the instruments she uses to make weather forecasts. This was an exciting way for the students to kick off their upcoming science unit on weather. The students had the opportunity to ask Ms. Fitzgibbon questions about her job and what it's like to be a meteorologist. This hands-on learning experience provided valuable insight into the science of weather forecasting. The third-graders left the presentation excited to dive deeper into their weather unit and put their newfound knowledge to use.
BEN HEM LIBRARY: BOOK DONATIONS WANTED!
Did you know the Bennett-Hemenway School Library happily accepts donations of gently used books? These donated books sometimes become additional copies of popular titles in our library. Other times, they are saved for a giant student book swap happening in June. Donated books may also be passed along to the Morse library. So when you're cleaning out your bookshelves, think of Ben-Hem! All book donations can be left in the main office. Thank you for sharing the joy of reading with our students! - Ms. Sullivan-Hall
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MORNING DROP-OFF FUN!
Our wonderful parent community makes our morning drop-off line possible, and we need your help! In October, we're looking for 4th-grade parents to assist students as they exit their cars and head to their classrooms. The fun starts at 8:05 AM, so we ask volunteers to arrive between 8:00-8:20 AM. Sign up here to be part of the morning greeting crew!
