BookBreak is Back!
Beginning this Month
Library Services is excited to announce that Bookbreaks.org is back! Bookbreaks is a fantastic program that was launched last year, that is designed to enrich our campus's literacy efforts! Bookbreaks.org provides engaging, interactive author presentations, and literary discussions that aim to inspire a love for reading and deepen our students' literacy skills.
Through Bookbreaks.org. your students will have the opportunity to hear from renowned authors such as Jason Reynolds, Kwame Alexander, and Grace Lin this fall. These sessions are perfect for sparking conversations and exploring diverse perspectives in literature.
If you don't have a Bookbreaks account yet, you'll be receiving an email to activate your account. If you don't see it in your inbox within a few days, please check your spam folder.
We're looking forward to enhancing our reading programs with this exciting new resource!

Lightbox Learning
Resource of the Month
All teachers and staff have access to Lightbox Learning.
Lightbox is a curriculum-based subscription of reading materials. You and your students can access over 3,000 interactive eBooks! Lightbox includes a variety of nonfiction titles that are great for research and inquiry, fiction titles, and several books that can be accessed in 15 world languages. This is truly a wonderful resource that provides opportunities for the text to be read to students, as well as, access to videos, maps, and interactive websites that allow students to engage at a deeper level with the material.
I have included a video explaining just how to access lightbox and have highlighted some of the features provided. If you want more information or have questions, please feel free to ask.
Soaring into the Final Four
Let's Get Reading 3rd Grade!
This year third grade has a wonderful opportunity to participate in the Read to the Final Four challenge. Students will have a chance to get engaged with the men's 2025 NCAA Final Four, which will take place right here in San Antonio, by participating in a fun reading challenge that will help foster a lifelong love of reading!
Registration begins next week, and we will continue to provide updates and more information as we near the start of the challenge. Let's encourage our 3rd graders to read, read, read!
