Updates and Reminders:
Homecoming Week: Sept. 23rd-Sept. 27th
Happy Homecoming Week Warriors! Dressing up for Spirit Week and attending the PEP rally can be great high school memories for everyone! On Friday we will have a PEP rally to celebrate our athletes and during the Homecoming game, we want to fill the stands with the best student section yet! Homecoming court will be announced at half-time as usual. Due to low attendance/participation in previous years, we will not be holding a homecoming dance this year.
Student Conduct: Please remember that your conduct during these fun times impact what we can do in the future. Put your best foot forward so that we can have other school wide activities throughout the year. You are still expected to go to class on time, work hard, and be respectful everyday. Please be reminded that if you are suspended from class you will not be permitted to attend afterschool activities (including Homecoming).
Attendance Reminders and Updates about Early Checkouts:
In order for a student to earn credit for a course they must meet the academic and attendance requirements.
Attendance is calculated for each class and reviewed by our attendance committee at the end of each semester as part of the process for determining if course credit has been earned. Exam exemption can also be impacted if a student has missed too many days or if they have had too many absences, tardies, or early checkouts. Absences, tardies, and early checkouts
are all considered as time missed from class. To be clear, if a student has passed the class but has missed a significant amount of class time, they cannot be awarded credit until they make up the amount of time determined by the attendance committee. This time can be made up after school or in the summer.
Any time a student misses a day, they need to provide a note within three days of the absence and are responsible for making up an missed assignments. In addition to absence and tardy codes, LMHS will begin coding early checkouts in PowerSchool effective Monday, September 23rd to help track class time missed. Please be mindful that these minutes add up quickly.
Chromebook Agreement Reminder (URGENT):
Mrs. Alston-Crudup and Mrs. G sent emails to those students who have not turned in their Student/Parent Chrome Device Agreement last week. Please check your email to see if this applies to you. All students without agreements on file signed by a parent/guardian will have their Chromebooks disabled on October 1, 2024. You may print the paper copy (English, Spanish) or follow these directions to sign digitally.
Senior Section:
Mandatory Senior Meeting October 1st @10am
All seniors will attend a quarterly meeting on the morning of October 1st in the auditorium. Information about how to order cap/gowns, senior apparel, and other items will be shared by the representative from Herf Jones. Students will also learn about senior fees, deadlines for senior portraits, and other details for any student that is planning on Early Graduation. We always have seniors that need a little financial assistance to afford some of the costs at the end of the year. If you would like to contribute please reach out to Mrs. Treadway at tonyatreadway@fcschools.net.
Seniors have been meeting with their counselors over the last few weeks and have been given a list of important dates to remember for senior celebrations at the end of the year. (see attachment)

Senior Portraits:
Hey Seniors,
All seniors need to be photographed by CADY studios by October 25th if they would like their portrait in the yearbook. If you missed the Cady Road Show earlier this month and still have not had your senior made, it is not too late! Check out the information below to set up your appointment.

Senior Vaccine Requirement
In accordance with NC law, within 30 days, students entering 12th grade are required to have their 2nd dose of the meningococcal vaccine. Please contact your child’s healthcare provider and make an appointment as soon as possible to receive the vaccine if you haven’t already. Vaccination documentation will be required within the first 30 days of the school year. 12th-grade students who have not provided documentation within 30 days will be excluded from school. If your child does not have a primary care provider, vaccinations may also be received at the Franklin County Health Department. The health department can be reached at 919-496-2533.
Warrior Spotlight!
Dress for Success
Thank you to all the participants in the Dress for Success. Cameron Manson and Jose Santos-Ramirez were the two stylist winners last week. Great job presenting yourselves with confidence and pride. The next Dress for Success Day is October 16th.
Cindy Gupton
Mrs. Gupton is always hard at work taking care of business in the front office of LMHS! She makes sure that we have subs when staff members are absent, manages all school accounts as the treasurer, sets our bell system, and MUCH MORE! She seems to work around the clock even when she is at home. Mrs. Gupton is an important part of our Warrior Family and we appreciate her!

Opportunities Corner:
FCS would like to invite everyone to participate in "See you at the Pole" this Wednesday at 8:05 at the flagpole at LMHS. This event (part of the Global Day of Prayer) started in the 1990s as a way to lift up students, their friends, teachers, school and nation to God. FCA will sponsor the event but ALL are welcome to attend.
