Thank you to all the community partners that welcomed our high school students in their workplace to provide real life, real world, real work, experience! Some students used the exposure to confirm the career path they chose for themselves, for others, it provided a peek into the profession and an opportunity to redirect their career path!

🎶🎻What a beautiful performance at the Elementary Strings Festival on Tuesday, April 30th. We are excited to see how our students continue to grow your love for music.

What is Math Bowl?? Math Bowl is where our 7th and 8th graders in the district form math teams and compete against other DPS middle school students. Students answer questions and put their math skills to the test in a Jeopardy game format. Each team works collaboratively to answer questions in a 30-second time limit. We were impressed by the mathematicians teams from American Dreamer, Dennis, Johns Hill, Stephen Decatur and Montessori! What a fun event!

🐾 🫧 🐰 It was a fabulous day for the annual Panther Pawlooza! An event to bring special education students together with general education students, teachers, and community members/businesses. Panther Pawlooza helps promote growth, learning and sensory exploration through creativity for Decatur Public School students with moderate-severe disabilities. Macon-Piatt life and essential skills students grades 1-12+ were able to attend the event. Many general education students volunteered to help make the day successful!
