Plans for Retirement
Hello SBHS students and parents,
The time has come for me to begin a new adventure as I retire from 26 years in education. Time has flown by. The first 20 years were in special education at Damascus Middle and later Deep Creek Damascus K8 and the last 6 years have been at Sam Barlow as a Career Coordinator.
I really love my job, and it is hard to move on. I will be leaving a piece of me at both schools. I have loved the students and have many fond and fun memories from break-throughs in learning to snakes in the hallway. I have been honored to work with some amazing students. I hope some of the things I have begun will continue like Career Guest Speakers, Pre- Mock Interview lessons, and most importantly, FAST Track Pre-Apprenticeship Program in Construction and Metals Manufacturing. May you continue to be inspired to learn about careers and the pathways you can take to seek your future.
My plan for retirement means there will be many activities from volunteering (say Hi to me when I am here),to spending time with family and friends... I also have a 3-P plan- Pickle Ball (just a beginner), paddling (I love to kayak), and painting (I am a watercolorist but I yearn to learn bold colorful acrylics).
