Thanks To Our Recent Partners
Sam's Club San Marcos
US Employee Benefits Services Group
Riverside ER
Thank you to Riverside ER in New Braunfels for hosting our second quarterly Fri-Yay at Support Services breakfast for 150 employees. We appreciate the breakfast, swag, and learning about the many ways your partnership is growing greatness in our students and employees across Comal ISD.
Capital Farm Credit
When community partner Capital Farm Credit says all their staff was involved in FFA or 4H growing up and they want to help our students be successful in competitions, it was an easy connection to make. On October 26, Capital Farm Credit hosted the Ag Issues team from Canyon HS to practice their presentation for an upcoming area competition. Staff gave the team feedback and wished them well at their next competition.
Valero Alamo Bowl and PNC Bank
Comal ISD's 2022-2023 District Teachers of the Year, Alice Tuckness and A'ndrea Fisher, received extra treats this Halloween when they were each surprised with a $500 grant and game tickets from the Valero Alamo Bowl and PNC Bank as part of the College Football Playoff Foundation's Extra Yard for Teachers program. Thank you for recognizing our outstanding teachers of the year.
Continental and Detex
Robotics and engineering students from Canyon High and Memorial Early College High experienced firsthand how their classroom studies are applied in real-world jobs. The group of 20 students toured Continental and Detex, two local manufacturers, for a behind-the-scenes look at the industry. We appreciate our partners that grow greatness beyond the classroom walls.

CISD Communications Department
Communications Department learned about the ins-and-outs of the PTA Clothes Closet from how it is run to donations and current needs. The team spent an hour volunteering as a way to understand a community resource for our students and families while bonding outside of the office.
Comal Education Foundation
Making the holidays a bit more merry and bright, CEF board donated undergarments to PTA Clothes Closet. Many parents utilize the clothing donation as part of their child's Christmas gift, so to make it more special, holiday wrapping paper and bags were donated too! Each student that shops at the Clothes Closet receives 10 tops, 10 bottoms, 2 outerwear pieces, 10 new pairs of socks and 10 new pairs of underwear.
Partnership Opportunities
Making a Difference
A current need is for sturdy, reusable food bags for students to transport food home each week. A donation of 100 bags would be amazing, but any are appreciated! Please contact Sarah.permenter@comalisd.org or 830-221-2154.
INCubator MVP Judges Needed
Community business experts have an opportunity to experience our INCubator student entrepreneur program by serving as a volunteer judge for MVP (Minimum Viable Product) Pitch presentations. Students in this unique business program learn how to develop a product or service start up. The MVP Pitch is their opportunity to earn real investment funds, provided by Comal Education Foundation. Teams then use their funds to further develop their business to compete in Final Pitch Night in May.
Qualified judges have a background in business, marketing, finance or have an entrepreneur spirit. Three judges and one alternate are needed at Canyon High School, January 17, 2024, from 9:45-11:15am, and Pieper High School, February 8, 2024, from 1:00-2:30pm.
