November 2024
Message From The Principal
As we settle into the colorful days of fall, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished so far and to express gratitude for the many things that make our school community so special. This month, as we gather around the Thanksgiving table with our families, I encourage all of us to take a moment to appreciate the growth and progress our students are making in the classroom. Whether it’s mastering a new skill or working through challenges, there is so much to be thankful for in our school.
Reflecting on Learning Goals
November is also a great time for students to reflect on their learning goals. Whether they are focused on reading more books, improving their math skills, or building new friendships, it’s important for everyone to take a moment to think about what they’ve accomplished and what they hope to achieve before the end of the year. I encourage our students to check in with themselves and think about how they can continue to grow in these areas. Teachers are always here to help them set realistic goals and take the necessary steps toward achieving them.
The Importance of Being on Time
As we work together to support our students’ success, one of the most important ways we can help is by ensuring that students arrive at school on time. Student drop off begins at 7:40. Instruction starts at 8:10. Student arriving to class after 8:10 are marked tardy. I recommend leaving home 5-10 minutes earlier each morning, so that your child can start their school day feeling confident and ready to learn. Arriving early gives students the opportunity to settle in, prepare for the day, and start their day with focus and calm. This small adjustment can make a big difference in setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Attendance Matters
Speaking of getting to school on time, attendance is key to your child’s success in school. Our goal this year is to increase our student attendance rate from last year’s 94.3% to 97%, and I am pleased to report that we are currently at an impressive 97.4%! This is a huge accomplishment, and I want to thank our parents and families for your continued support in making sure your children are here every day. Regular attendance helps our students build momentum in their learning, and when they are present, they can fully engage with their lessons and grow to their fullest potential.
Thank you again for all that you do to support your child's education. I am so grateful for the partnership we share and for the dedicated work of our entire school community.
Wishing everyone a wonderful November filled with gratitude, learning, and growth.
Take care and be well,
Danis Boone, Principal
