FRONT OFFICE NOTES

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION is currently happening. Child must be 5 on or before 9/10/23. Visit your school or www.mcpsmt.org/studentregistration to register.

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES will be held the week of March 13th. Be on the look out for an email from your child(ren)'s teacher to sign up for this very important meeting.

2023 'Souper' Bowl Food Drive

Thank you to everyone who donated items to our 2nd annual 'Souper' Bowl Food Drive and helped Chief Charlo, Lewis and Clark Elementary and the Missoula Food Bank fight hunger! This year's winner with 1,697 pounds of food collected was Lewis and Clark Elementary School. Chief Charlo collected 1,027 pounds leaving Principal Gaub to receive a pie to his face by Lewis and Clark Principal, Mrs. Vaneps, Thursday afternoon, March 2nd. Pictures and video footage to come.

Character Strong Trait of the Month

The month of March will focus on the character trait Cooperation. Cooperation is working together to achieve a shared goal. It can happen when working with others in class to complete an assignment, being part of a friendship, and as students get older, cooperation happens in the workplace. We are also working with kids this month on taking turns and making a deal. These are two of the 9 Kelso Choice’s we teach. You can practice cooperation at home this month by working together as a family to clean a common space, deciding who gets to pick a game to play, who gets to go first, and celebrating the successes. We use cooperation throughout each day.

YAY ... Chief Charlo's Book Fair is BACK!!

The Chief Charlo Scholastic Spring Book Fair is BACK!! The Book Fair will run March 14, 15, and 16 during Parent/Teacher Conferences both in person and online. Watch for more details to come home with your student in the near future.

Families in Transition Coordinator - Rm 233

The Families in Transition (FIT) Program is here to assist Chief Charlo students and families experiencing housing instability (McKinney-Vento Act) and/or economic hardship. FIT works as a bridge between those families, our school and the district staff to empower students to stay in school and remain successful both in school and as lifelong learners. FIT also provides families access to community resources and services.


FIT is here to support your family, because we care about all of our Wolves - BIG and small!!
