Krueger Connection Newsletter
October 27, 2024
A word from your principal
Krueger families
Thank you for supporting our PTA Fun Run fundraiser on Friday. We had a great turnout and surpassed our goal of 15,000 dollars! WOW!
Krueger Students represented our school phenomenally at the Career & Engaged Expo this past Thursday at Sotomayor HS. Students represented our STEM class, Gifted & Talented class, and Acorn Club. I loved seeing our students share their learning and experiences with others in the community.
Red Ribbon Week is in conjunction with the 50th day on Tuesday, October 29th. Students and staff are encouraged to dress like the "50s" era, and Thursday, October 31st, is our Book Character parade. Students may dress up like their favorite book characters. Students will need to bring their books, and we ask that students not wear full face masks or bring toy weapons. The parade will start at 9:00 am, and the parent viewing will be held in our amphitheater.
As a reminder, November 5th is a student holiday. Krueger is serving as a voting site from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Yours in Education
Mrs. Velasquez

Calling all Third Grade Parents!
The NCAA Men's Final Four will be held in San Antonio in the Spring of 2025. As part of the tournament there is a reading challenge for third grade students. Beginning Nov. 4th, students will be asked to read at least 25 minutes a day to help the Krueger team advance in the tournament. There will be a reading log each week on which we will ask you to record the minutes read, initial and return to school on each Monday.
There are 304 schools participating in the challenge. The schools with the highest AVERAGE number of minutes read will advance to bracket play beginning in January. The final four schools in the challenge will be invited to attend the NCAA Fan Fest which will take place in conjunction with the tournament.
A parent letter and the first reading log will be sent home this week.

Reminders
- School Hours: 7:45 am -3:00 pm. If students arrive after 7:45 a.m., they will be considered tardy.
- Make sure your child's teacher knows how your child will go home each day.
- If you change your child's way home for the school day, please call the school by 2 p.m., ensuring ample time for the office staff to notify your child's teacher.
- If you need to change your child's way home permanently or for the day, either send an email or note to your child's teacher. We are not able to change the way home if the change comes from the student.
- If your child rides a bike to and from school, remind them to leave their bike inside the gated area at the side of the school.
