Teacher of the Year and Educational Service Professional of the Year!

We are pleased to announce our congratulations to Mrs. Ixa Ocampo, DWS Teacher of the Year and to Mrs. Guadalupe Chong, DWS Educational Service Professional of the Year! We thank them for their years of exemplary service and dedication to our students at DWS!

Family Book Fair Night & Book Fair Week

You will not want to miss our Family Book Fair Night on Friday, February 22nd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. This year's theme is Dyno-mite: Stomp, Chomp and Read! Books for all different ages will be available, along with food and bake sale. Various vendors from our PTA enrichment classes, Boy & Girl Scouts and our own Public Library will be there to help support our event.

Then throughout the week of Feb. 25- March 1st, the students will visit the book fair during their scheduled library time which will take place in the library.

Read Across America- March 1, 2019

DWS students will partake in school spirit activities throughout the week of the book fair. More details will follow soon. Students will wear certain items to school as we approach March 1st. They can look forward to Lorax Mustache Monday, Wacky Wednesday, Crazy Socks Day, just to name of few. Visitors from different departments of our Weehawken Township will come and visit and read to students. Our teacher association, WEA, has purchased a book for each class.

February is going to be a month full of fun and reading!

February is Dental Awareness Month.

The importance of dental care begins at a young age. We have local dentists visiting to share the basic dental hygiene with our students. Be sure to discuss these important topics at home with your child.
