Greetings Wolfpack Families and Friends!!!
Greetings Wolfpack Families and Friends…..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I want to extend a warm welcome to our students, parents and community members. I sincerely hope that everyone had an AMAZING winter holiday. Our return to school marks the beginning of the second semester as well as our mid-year point. As we embark on the second semester, it is the perfect time to renew our commitment to our focus, our dedication to growth, and our emphasis on our school’s vision of creating a high performing IB school of choice where students want to learn, parents and families engage, educators empower students to succeed, and the community collaborates with the school to rebuild the legacy.
Let’s continue to remain persistent on our journey of learning together while fostering a positive and engaging school environment. Let’s also continue to collaborate as we make this semester a successful and enriching experience for our students. I could not be more excited about the opportunities for progress and learning that lie ahead. Together, we will continue to “Rebuild the Legacy” of Jean Childs Young Middle School.
With Gratitude,
Ronald Garlington - Principal

Happy New Year Wolf Pack Family! 🎉
On December 13th, 24 students attended a field trip to the Adobe Atlanta Office. During this field trip, our scholars gained valuable insights and hands-on experience that boosted their preparation for the district-wide Technology Innovation Competition. They participated in a lesson on effectively utilizing AI tools, where they used a text-to-image AI function to create imaginative gingerbread houses. This activity allowed them to showcase their creativity and apply their learning in a fun, practical way. The students also engaged in discussions with Adobe professionals, gaining inspiration and understanding of the technology industry. By the end of the visit, they left with enhanced technical skills, a wealth of ideas, and newfound confidence for their competition projects. The experience ignited their passion for innovation and set them on a path to success.

From the District
School Climate Survey
The time of year has come when students, staff and parents begin participating in the Georgia School Climate Survey.
What is the Georgia School Climate Survey?
During this 2024-2025 school year, the Georgia School Climate Surveys (GSCS) for students, teachers, staff, and families will replace the Georgia Student Health Survey (GSHS), the Georgia Parent School Climate Survey (GPSCS), and the Georgia School Personnel Survey (GSPS). This new suite of surveys is aligned with Georgia’s Systems of Continuous Improvement, and is designed to provide more actionable data for district and school leaders to make schools a safer and more engaging place to learn. We have reduced the number of questions for students and eliminated the need for other GaDOE survey requirements. Added security measures are also in place to ensure more accurate data.
Where are the links to the surveys?
https://survey.gadoe.org/FM?sid=CAB5138F
What is the window for completing the survey?
The APS window goes from January 7th to March 14th.
