Hello Dorr Families,
This week we were honored with another national award! We are thrilled to announce that Dorr Elementary is a Capturing Kids Hearts National Showcase School for the 2023-2024 school year! This distinction directly reflects the unwavering dedication and collaborative efforts of our students, staff, and the entire school community. The recognition of a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase Schools® award serves as a testament to the commitment held by the campus community to foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Each year, National Showcase Schools undergo a meticulous selection process, evaluating essential performance indicators, collecting campus data, and seeking feedback from both staff and students. Dorr Elementary is honored to accept and share this award and title with all of you. A celebration is being planned. Stay tuned for details.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Seniura
Distinguished Artist - Cecilia Carr
Dorr Elementary has a Distinguished Artist Program in which student artwork is on display like an art gallery for the school year. Each year 9 students are chosen as a Distinguished Artist. The distinguished artist is a student who is responsible in art, shows their creativity and works hard on all projects. Ms. Corcoran chooses 3 to 4 pieces of artwork in which the students followed directions and completed the project adding their creativity. A committee of staff members then votes on the projects to choose the winner.
Congratulations, Cecilia Carr!
