Hello Mahaffey Families!

I hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving break full of family and fun. Hard to believe we are just one month away from 2025! Starting December 2nd, Dr. Heather Lord (one of our current assistant principals) will be filling in for me as Principal Fellow while I am out on leave. I am thrilled to have her filling in and know she will continue leading Mahaffey with a servants heart focused around our Core Values.

Filling in for Assistant Principal while Dr. Lord is Principal fellow will be Frances Ditta. Mrs. Ditta has worked in the district for 39 years. She was at Klein Oak High School for 36 years. She served as an administrator for 16 years. Since retirement she has been subbing at elementary schools as assistant principal and/or principal. fditta@kleinisd.net

As you head into the holiday season with your families, I wish you health, happiness, and joy.

I hope you and your loved ones enjoy some special time together during the break (starting December 23rd), and we will look forward to welcoming our students' shining faces back to school on January 8, 2025!

End of November: 95.88% (October was 96.03%)

Mahaffey is pleased to offer Stuart’s holiday stocking for a 3rd year through our school store. We will take orders from Nov 11th through Dec 13th end of the day. We will offer a goodie cup with new items not sold yet in the School store (scented pencils, erasers, and more). Stocking price points will start at $11. You may add more to the stocking by selecting an additional amount.

ITEM will be delivered by Dec 19th.

Visitors are required to present a valid ID before entering our schools and district facilities. You will see this sign on all our front doors.

Please make sure to have you license ready to show the camera when you ring the door bell.

Once admitted in, you will let the door close behind you not holding the door open for anyone behind you.

In Klein ISD we use the Standard Response Protocol in case of emergencies. We review these items with the students throughout the school year.

DOORS

• All exterior doors require a keycard to enter
• Our resource officer along with administration conduct door checks throughout the door
• Our students are taught to NEVER open the door (this includes for fellow students or staff members).

Please assist us in the handling of custody related issues. It is the responsibility of the parents to provide the principal a certified copy of the court order affecting any other person’s right to their children.
