SGA celebrated the implementation of a new Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation STEM Center last month with a ribbon cutting. The STEM center was made possible through a partnership with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and Devon Energy and includes a specialized selection of lessons, diverse activity kits, and materials that introduce STEM principles to students through circuitry, engineering, coding, and more!

SGA students Janely Bueno, Kamyla Burciaga, Angely Mendoza Soto, Giovanny Pichardo, Monserrat Martinez, Diego Franco, Hernan Hernandez and Adrhiyel Delgado presented at the Viva Aztlan Festival in Lubbock last month representing team Ballet Folklorico Yatzil. SGA student Kamyla Burciaga received an award for Best Performer and the team won several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place division awards including Best Choreography, Best Costume, Best Technique and Form, Best Traditional and Children's Best Overall. Congratulations, we are proud of you and all of your hard work!

SGA students will begin taking the New Mexico Measure of Student Success and Achievement (NMMSSA) assessments on Monday, April 8. Testing for both Math and Reading will be administered through Tuesday, April 30, which will be the last day for make up testing. Tests will not be administered on Wednesdays, our early release days. It is very important that your student is present at school for testing dates and that they receive adequate sleep the night before exams, as well as breakfast.
