A Message from Principal Cutone
May 31, 2024
Dear HES Community,
The last weeks of school are always so much fun as we celebrate our Sharks’ growth and engage in activities to culminate the year. Here are some of the schoolwide highlights:
Field Day
This year, we are having Field Day for K-4 Sharks on Wednesday, June 12, with a rain date of Thursday, June 13. The best way to see your Sharks in action is to volunteer to help run a station. You may sign up to help by clicking here. For the safety of our Sharks, all volunteers must have a valid Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) on file in the main office. If you aren’t sure if you have one, please call the main office, and they’ll look it up for you. If you need one, here is the link; it’s very easy and quick and just requires a picture of your driver’s license. Parking for volunteers will be available at the 204 Municipal Cultural Center on Sisson Road.
HES Step-Up Day for K-3
On our last day of school, June 18, all students in K-3 will participate in Step-Up Day, which is an opportunity for them to meet their new teachers and classmates.
Grade 4 Graduation Ceremony
All guardians and caregivers of 4th grade Sharks are invited to the graduation on Monday, June 17, at 9:30 am in the gym.
Last Day of School
In addition to Step-Up Day, the last day of school will include a whole school slideshow and a 4th-grade clap out. Dismissal will begin at 10:50 am.
Wishing you all a fabulous weekend. Enjoy the weather!
My best,
Christie
Author, Dean Coe
Dean Coe from Sandwich visited the third grade to read and have a Q&A session with the students. He writes books about his character, Chesterton, an adventurous weasel. He was impressed with the students and enjoyed the discussions. Thank you, PTO, for providing funds for this visit.
Lost and Found
Please come by the HES lobby to claim your Shark's lost sweatshirts, hats, gloves, water bottles, and more! Items will be donated to charity after June 14th.
Our new trees on the playground are still young and need our love. Will you consider signing up for one week this summer to help keep them thriving? Click on the blue button above. Thank you!
