A Note of Gratitude and Encouragement
As we move into the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to express how proud I am of the hard work and growth we’ve seen from both our students and staff. It’s been a year full of learning, connection, and progress — and we are grateful for the continued support of our Lincoln Elementary families.
This week, our 3rd-. 4th-, and 5th grade-students will have the opportunity to show what they’ve learned in Language Arts on the STAAR test. We know that this assessment can bring up a lot of feelings, and while it is an important measure, it’s important to remember — it’s just one measure.
We do use STAAR results to reflect on how we’re doing as a campus: where our students are thriving and where we can continue to grow. But when we talk about student success, we look far beyond test scores. We ask: Do our students feel welcome and safe at school? Are families meaningfully connected and engaged? Are we fostering lifelong learners and compassionate citizens?
At Lincoln, we believe our students are so much more than a score. We see their growth, their kindness, their creativity, and their resilience — and that’s what we’ll always celebrate first.
Thank you for partnering with us through it all.
Tell Us Your Plans!
We are working hard to plan for the 25-26 school year, and we need your help. We'd like for EVERY family to complete the survey below by May 2 to help us make sure we are staffed appropriately. It also helps us as we create class lists to ensure each class is as balanced as possible. The survey should only take you 1-2 minutes to complete. Thank you!

Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast
🌞 Volunteers: You’re Invited to Our Volunteer Breakfast! 🌞
At Lincoln Elementary, we are incredibly grateful for the generous hearts and helping hands of our volunteers. Whether you’ve served as a mentor, read with students, helped organize classroom events, donated supplies, or stepped in as a WatchDOG — your time and care have made a lasting difference in the lives of our students.
To show our appreciation, we invite you to a Volunteer Breakfast in your honor on Friday, April 25 at 8:30 AM in the Lincoln Elementary Cafeteria. This is a small way for us to say a big thank you for your dedication and service throughout the year.
Please RSVP by Monday, April 21 using the QR code in the invitation below or use this link.
We look forward to celebrating YOU!
News from the Nurse
Parents, please remember to pick up all student medications from the nurse’s office, as they will be discarded on the last day of school. We will not be sending medication home with students at the end of the year. It will be necessary for a parent/guardian to make arrangements to pick up any remaining medication(s).
Any medication not picked up on or before Friday, May 23, 2025, by 3:40 pm will be DISCARDED. We are not able to hold any medication in the clinic over the summer. The school must have a new and updated Medication Authorization form signed by the parent and physician every year.
Montgomery ISD Medication Policy Reminder
Prescription drugs and Non-prescription drugs:
The school must receive an authorization to administer medication form before a medication can be given. The form is available in the clinic or on our website. A physician's signature is required for any medication taken at school, including prescription, over-the-counter medications, and oral and topical medications. Parent signature, medical professional signature and date authorized is required prior to administration of the medication.
- All medication must be in the original container and cannot be expired.
- All medicine must be brought to and removed from the clinic by the parent/guardian, not the student.
- Prescription medication must contain the student's name, name of medicine, directions and expiration date.
- Medication changes: must be in writing and prescriptions require a new pharmacy bottle.
- The following conditions require additional paperwork: diabetes, asthma, food allergies, severe allergies requiring emergency medication and seizure disorders.
- Please only bring small quantities of over the counter (OTC) medicine due to limited space available.
- The medication forms must be completed annually, and all medication must be picked up prior to the last day of school.
Parent Input for Class Placements for the 25-26 School Year (PK-4th Grades Only)
At the end of each school year, our staff works together to determine classroom placement for the upcoming school year. As we start planning for the 2024-2025 school year, I want to provide you with an opportunity to participate in helping your child have a successful school year. We devote our expertise and time toward creating classroom assignments that ensure balance for optimal teaching and learning. Several important factors are considered when making class placement, such as individual factors specific to each child, boy/girl balance, special program supports, strengths/styles of individual teachers, separation of relatives, and teacher input.
If you would like to participate in this process as a parent, please complete this form prior to April 29. We will consider parent input carefully before making any placement decisions. Since the criteria listed above will be used to determine class placement, please do not request an individual teachers. Neither individual teacher requests nor forms submitted after April 29th will be considered.
We look forward to learning more about your child from the parent perspective. Please note that completing the form and providing additional information is voluntary. All student placements will receive the same care and consideration whether or not the additional information is provided.

All About Lunch
Lunch Schedules
Lunch visitors who are on a child's emergency contact list are welcome to eat with that child at one of our 3 reserved lunch visitor tables during the student's lunch period. Visitors will need to check in at the front office with their ID and get a visitor badge. Please do not invite other students to join you or provide food or snacks for other students. When lunch is over, all students will line up with their class. Visitors will return to the front office to turn in their visitor badge. Students should not bring other students with them to join their guests for lunch. Food should not be provided to other students than the child the guests are visiting.
Lunch Times:
ECSE 3s: 11:40-12:10
Pre-K & ECSE 4s: 10:55-11:25
Kindergarten: 11:10-11:40
1st Grade: 11:25-11:55
2nd Grade: 11:45-12:15
3rd Grade: 12:00-12:30
4th Grade: 12:20-12:50
5th Grade: 12:35-1:05
A friendly reminder, we do not have an open lunch policy so please do not order food for your child from outside vendors to be delivered to the school during the school day (i.e. Uber Eats, Grub Hub, Door Dash, or any kind of delivery service). This becomes a safety concern when staff need to leave the front office to deliver food to students or take their focus off of families who have business in the office. Food deliveries also increase the number of unfamiliar people entering the building. Additionally, our lunch times are very tight and do not allow for late deliveries. We cannot allow for learning to be disrupted by early or late food deliveries. Thank you for understanding our focus on safety and uninterrupted instructional time.
Birthday Recognition Fundraiser
Celebrate your child’s birthday and raise money for our LES activity fund. These funds are used to pay for field trips and special activities for our students and staff.
You can have your child’s first name and initial of last name (i.e. Kerri A.) displayed on our marquee and/or our internal hallway monitors for the week of his/her birthday for a small donation to our activity fund. If you choose to have their birthday recognition on the hallway monitors, you have the option to include a picture of your child for an additional $5 donation. If you child has a summer birthday, we can recognize their half-birthday.
Cash donations only, please. Use the form attached below to place your order. Please have your form and payment submitted two weeks prior to your child's birthday or half-birthday to ensure it is posted in a timely manner.
School Hours, Attendance, and Tardies
- Doors open at 7:50
- Tardy bell rings, and class begins at 8:15. (This is the time students are expected to be in their seats in the classroom.)
- School day ends at 3:40
We are working hard to maximize each and every minute our students are here. Students who arrive after 8:15 are considered tardy and will need to be walked into the front door of the building and signed in by a parent or guardian. If your child needs to leave early, they may be checked out through the front office by a parent or guardian no later than 3:15 pm.
Attendance is of critical importance to your child's academic success. Parents should enter the absence information through Family Access in Skyward within 48 hours of the absence.
Changes in transportation need to be made prior to 2:00 in order to allow time for the messages to be communicated with the appropriate staff member. To request a change of transportation, either
- Send a note with your child,
- Email LincolnElementaryTransit@misd.org with the note and a copy of your driver's license, or
- Come to the school with a copy of your driver's license.
