Providing mental health information, resources and self-care tips!
CFISD Mental Health & Wellness Fair
Please join the CFISD Mental Health Intervention Team for a free event at Berry Center. This unique opportunity will allow staff, families, and community members to personally connect with a broad range of mental health care professionals. Attendees can ask professionals individual questions and learn more specific information about the services they provide.
Attendees can also devote a few minutes to personal self-care at our self-care stations and put their name in a raffle for door prizes. We hope you'll take advantage of this one of a kind event!
Join us at the Berry Center Wednesday, Dec. 4th 3:30-6:30pm
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a condition in which some people experience a significant mood change when the seasons change. SAD is not considered a separate disorder but is a type of depression. SAD is triggered by changes in seasons. This form of depression usually occurs during the fall and winter months when there is less sunlight, and the days get shorter.
Shining a Light on Bereavement and Grief
Grief, in many ways, is a universal experience. In the United States alone, millions of people experience grief and bereavement each year due to a variety of reasons, including the loss of loved ones or experiencing a traumatic event, illness, disaster, or violence. Grief also is a complex and deeply personal experience that can impact both mental and physical health – and nobody processes it in the same way.
This week is National Grief Awareness Week (December 2-8, 2024) – and SAMHSA desires to elevate this universally important topic of national significance. National Grief Awareness week is a time to acknowledge everyone who has experienced loss, and to help raise awareness about grief nationwide.
