Congratulations to our Falcon Spotlight winners for February! February's highlighted IB Learner Profile is "Communication." As communicators, "Learners understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication. They work effectively and willingly collaborate with others." Sixth grade student winners are: Ryleigh Redden, Taylor Walk, and Matthew Gamboa Velazquez. Seventh grade winners are Xavion Hicks, Maria Salamanca Castellon, and La'Zarria White, and Eighth grade winners are Kamille Ross, Alex Ernandez, D'Ariya Thompson McCoy. Team teacher celebrants are Ms. Rooney, Ms. Hauck, Ms. Fletcher and Ms. Poe. The Elective/World Language teacher winners are Senor Morales, Madame Teixiera, and Ms. Burnett! The Support Staff Spotlight winners include Ms. Bostic, Ms. Gordan, Ms. Reynolds, and Ms. Dawson, along with Dr. Persinski. Ms. Yannotti's and Ms. Rooney's Core 1 are honored with this month's Safety Award, and Team 6-1, 7-1, and 8-1 earned the Golden Spoon award for cafeteria cleanliness!

Next month's Learner Profile is Risk-Taker!

Congratulations to the students who participated in the Winthrop World Language competition Friday! Isaiah Gill won 1st in the French Spelling Bee and Jonah Whisonant earned 4th! In the Spanish Spelling Bee, Akhemi Hobert got 4th and Ava Mitchell got 5th place! Our World Language students came back with 2 huge envelopes of awards for their writing and speaking!

Want to know how the school day looks from “inside”? SIC invites all parents and Sullivan friends to participate in a “Teacher for the Day” program being held on March 20, 2024! We view this occasion as a chance for parents and community partners to experience the normal day-to-day operations of teachers in an effort to build empathy and explore additional opportunities for collaboration.

If you choose to participate you will be paired with a Sullivan teacher and will shadow their routine from approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. You will then join us for a debrief with the SIC team. The day will conclude by 11 AM.
