Adorn yourself in school colors for your FIRST SENIOR SOCIAL of the year!
Enjoy a complimentary donut with a cup of coffee and juice in the SENIOR VIP LOUNGE while vibing to positive tunes.
The action takes place Thursday, September 12th from 6:30-7:00am. Donuts will be served 6:30 -7:00am. Class picture will take place at 7:00am.

Upcoming Probe College Tours
The Probe Fall 2024 College Tour includes 92 local fairs. Probe is the only college tour offered in the state that provides student access to colleges of all shapes, sizes, and missions, whether they live in the north Georgia mountains, near the Georgia-Florida border, and everywhere in between.

Students and parents are may pre-register for an upcoming fair at RegisterProbe.com. Each fair entry will list the colleges and universities scheduled to exhibit. Registrants will receive a confirmation email with a QR code to bring to their selected fair and to share with colleges of interest.

NAVIANCE
Naviance is a college and career readiness tool that allows students to research and prepare for careers, college, personal life goals and apply to colleges. In Naviance students can:
- research colleges
- request transcripts
- request letters of recommendations
- search for scholarships and manage scholarship application
ACCESSING NAVIANCE:
1. Log in to your eClass account
2. Go to “Additional Resources”
3. Select “Naviance”
Requesting Transcripts in Naviance
1. Log into your Naviance account.
2. Click on Colleges I’m Applying To.
3. Then, click on the Request Transcripts button, which should be located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Check “Initial”, meaning you are requesting your initial transcript be sent to your colleges.
4. Scroll down a bit and click on the down arrow to select which schools you want to send the transcripts to. When you click on the down arrow, all of your schools will appear.
5. Check the box next to the schools where you want your official transcript sent.
6. Scroll to the bottom and click Submit.
Requesting Letters of Recommendations in Naviance
1. Complete the Brag Sheet Survey found in Naviance to share information about yourself with counselors and teachers (About Me->Surveys->Surveys From Your School-> MHSHS Letter of Rec Brag Sheet ).
2. Have a conversation with teachers you would like to request a recommendation from before submitting a request!
3. Access your Naviance account through eClass under Additional Resources
4. Click on “Colleges” then “Letters of Recommendation”
5. Click “Add Request”
4. Choose your teacher from the drop-down menu, then choose whether you want their letter to go to all current and future colleges or only specific colleges that you select
6. Click “Submit Request”
Make sure to request recommendations WELL in advance of the deadline - 10 school days should be the minimum.

National College Match Application deadline is September 26, 2024
To apply, students need a minimum 3.0 GPA and must complete an online application. The application process does not require essays, recommendations, or transcripts.
The deadline to apply is 5pm ET on September 30, 2024
The United States Senate Youth Program, established in 1962 by U.S. Senate Resolution, is an esteemed educational initiative offering high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the American political process.
Each year, two students from each state are selected as delegates and participate in Washington Week. Delegates receive a $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship from the Hearst Foundation to an accredited United States college or university undergraduate program of their choice.
Scholarship funds are paid directly to the college or university on the student's behalf.
Students can access the 2025 USSYP Application and the required verification forms online.
The application deadline is September 30 @ 5 PM.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation's (HHF) are looking for students who have made remarkable achievements in the classroom, made an impact in their communities, and demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following categories:
- Community Service
- Education
- Engineering
- Entrepreneurship & Business
- Green Sustainability
- Healthcare & Science
- Media & Entertainment
- Public Service & Social
- Justice
- Technology
To be considered for the Hispanic Heritage Youth Award, students must:
- Be currently enrolled in high school, graduating in the spring of 2025.
- Hold a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale.
- Enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2025 - 2026.
- Be of Hispanic heritage (including Spain, Brazil, Philippines).
- Attend their regional virtual ceremony, if selected.
Youth Awards applicants and recipients will join HHF's extensive network of over 300,000 professionals and be integrated into its cycle of leadership pipeline, where we meet America's priorities in the classroom and workforce.
