ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - Week of January 12, 2025
HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
GIRLS BASKETBALL
The girls' basketball team celebrated their senior night on Monday 1/13 with a convincing win against Millville, 63-20. Seniors Ava Kraybill, Averie Harding, Alina Gonzalez, and Lyla Brown lead EHT with 9, 21, 10, and 12 points respectively.
On Wednesday 1/15, the girls lost a tough game to Ocean City. 36-31. EHT showed great fight coming back from a 10 point deficit in the second half to tie the game. However, they were unable to hold on for the win. Ava Kraybill led the Eagles with 9 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
The boy's basketball program is having a great week. All three levels defeated Bridgeton on Monday (1/13) and ACIT on Wednesday (1/15.) They look to continue their winning ways tonight at home against Cedar Creek. The varsity team will also play in the Thunderbolt Classic on Saturday and the MLK showcase on Monday.
SWIMMING
The EHTHS Boys and Girls swimming programs performed great against OMLA & St. Augustine Prep Wednesday evening. Both teams moving into 3rd into South Jersey Public A Sectional standings. Ady Elko & Max Smilevski were each double winners. EHT will finish their dual meet season and honor the seniors on Thursday 1/23/35 home against Mainland.
BOYS WINTER TRACK
The Boys and Girls Winter Track Teams will be competing at the Group 4 State Relays this Sunday, Jan 19th at the Toms River Bubble.
GIRLS WINTER TRACK
The girls track and field team have been working hard in the halls of the high school! The extreme cold and snow have made it difficult to get outside at times, but the girls don't let the weather stop them from working hard and getting the job done. They will be traveling to Toms River this Sunday for the Group 4 State Relay Championships.
WRESTLING
Wrestling got their first win of the season over Holy Spirit, 60-22.
WINTER CHEER
There's more to the winter cheerleading team than sideline chanting. They are on the frontlines of school spirit and always answer the call to show up. And that's just what they did for the annual Mr. EHT competition. The cheerleading team paired with Mr. EHT contestants to choreograph a group and individual performance that showcased the contestants' athleticism, coordination, personality, and poise. The cheerleaders had the contestants dancing, jumping, tumbling, and stunting much to the entertainment of the crowd. The winter cheerleaders were happy to support the annual event.

SPRING SPORTS REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Deadline to register for spring sports is March 1, 2025. Spring sports include: Boys and Girls Crew, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, Boys and Girls Spring Track, Boys Tennis, Boys Volleyball, Flag Football and Golf.
