Attendance
Dear Families,
School attendance is very important. Did you know that when children miss more than 2 days a month, or 17 days a year they are considered chronically absent? And missing more than 10% of the school year can make it harder to learn to read. We want the very best for our students and believe the best gift we can give them is a good education.
Often during this time of year, student attendance begins to drop. We miss your students when they are not here, and more importantly, we don’t want them to fall behind their peers. Our teachers will be here teaching every day through December 20th, please make sure your child is present each day as well to receive the gift of education!
If your student is out of school due to health exclusion, please connect with your student's teacher about accessing educational resources that can be done at home while your student is recovering.
In the spirit of collaboration and excellence,
Mrs. McKinney
Notes of gratitude
As we reflect on the past year and practice gratitude, this is a wonderful opportunity to encourage your child to write a note of appreciation to their teacher. These heartfelt notes can mean so much and serve as a lasting reminder of the impact they’ve made.
