Science 24 students learnt about the energy content of different snack foods through "pop can calorimetry". By measuring the amount of heat released from certain foods when they undergo combustion, we can thus determine the amount of energy they contain. This is done through the use of a calorimeter, a simple device wherein a container filled with water is placed above a burning sample of food.

There will be a Wake-A-Thon meeting on December 6th to go over expectations and what to expect at the event.
