Counselor Corner
Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back! As we start another school year, I thought it would be fitting to share a few tips I found on transitioning your child back into the school routine.
- Chat about today’s event and tomorrow’s plans. Ask your child to share how their day went, what they learned, etc. Then also prepare them for the next school day ahead.
- Keep routine. For students coming back to school a struggle is often staying in a routine. Set a routine now, and keep with it for the remainder of the year. (For instance, come home-have snack-do homework-chores-etc)
- Keep in contact. Open communication with your student’s teacher is key to their success.
- Connect with friend. This goes for you and your child. Encourage your child to have a friend over to study, or connect with another parent for support.

I wish everyone a happy and terrific school year!
