Four Quil Ceda Tulalip Educators Receive Doctoral Degrees
Quil Ceda Tulalip Elementary is now home to four new doctors! Teacher Irene Bare, Assistant Principal Chelsea Craig, and Mindfulness Teacher Christy Anana all completed their doctorate degree through the University of Washington recently. Kindergarten teacher Melissa Cullen is slated to receive her doctorate later this month through Central Queensland University. Woohoo! Way to go, staff, we are so proud of you!

City of Marysville Celebrates MPHS State Champ With "Maya Velasquez Day"
At the City Council meeting on Monday, June 10th, Mayor Nehring honored Marysville Pilchuck student Maya Velasquez for her recent track and field success at the state-level. At the state competition on May 24th Maya won State Champion in the 3A Girls High Jump with a distance of 5'4"! Maya is only the second athlete in MPHS Track and Field history and first girl to be a champion.
Mayor Nehring honored Maya's historic accomplishment by reading and signing a proclamation declaring June 10, 2024 as Maya Velasquez Day. Well done, Maya! We are so proud of you and this accomplishment!

New Turf Installation Begins
Construction update! The turf at Quil Ceda Stadium at Marysville Pilchuck High School has been rolled up and new turf is being laid this week! More progress photos to come.
The fields at MPHS and MGHS were last replaced in 2010. Each has a lifespan of 8-10 years. These fields are no longer safe to play on and must be replaced for the district to safely and legally offer sports in the 2024-2025 school year.
