Happy Super Bowl Sunday! On Friday, I saw a few students and staff members (Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Oakes) were proudly wearing their Philly green. I have no rooting interest in the game, however, I hope it is an exciting game!
It looks like some additional winter weather will be with us on Tuesday. Please monitor your email or the MCPS webpage to get the latest information regarding closures or delays. There is currently no plan for students to engage in virtual learning if we have additional closures. As we receive information regarding make-up days, etc..., I will let the community know:)
This week we will be celebrating “Valen-KIND Week.” Students will be participating in different activities throughout the week in their classrooms and around the building to teach about the importance of being kind, inclusive, and showing empathy for others. We will kick off the week with a Spirit Week including different themes to promote kindness. Students also have the opportunity to contribute to a community service project collecting items throughout the week to support “The Clarksburg Little Free Pantry.” Please click here to see the flier for more information.

Welcome Mr. Goodman!
Mr. Bryan Goodman (“Mr. G”) will be working with our Counselor, Mrs. Ioli, this spring on Wednesdays. He is studying to be a School Counselor at Hood College and we are thrilled to have him join our Wims community.”
PRIDE Recognition Assembly
PRIDE Recognition Assembly. Emails were sent out on 2/6/25 to families of students who will be recognized during this assembly. We hope to still keep this as a surprise to our students, so it would be wonderful if you do not tell them ahead of time if they are being recognized. There will not be a paper version of the letter sent. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher.
Message from the Art Room
The art room is in need of the brown middle part of your paper towel rolls for a super fun art project! Please start collecting them and feel free to drop them off at the office for Mrs. Daniell. Thank you for your help!

From the PTA Board
Dear Wildcats,
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped prepare goodie bags for each student at Wims on Valentine’s Day and much appreciation to June Tiet for organizing this. Our students will love to receive their bags!
This is the final week to register for this year’s S.T.E.A.M. Expo (scheduled for Friday, March 14)! The form will close on Friday, February 14. The S.T.E.A.M. Don’t forget about the Yearbook Cover Contest! We are very short on entries this year. Student cover art is an important part of the yearbook, so please encourage your students to give it a go! Details on how to enter, as well as how to pre-order your yearbook is shared below. Yearbooks are distributed the final week of the school year.
Finally, don’t forget to come to our February PTA Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 11 at 6:30pm! We are keeping an eye on the potential for some winter weather this week. In the event MCPS cancels evening activities, our meeting would be canceled. We will make a formal announcement on our Facebook page and in our WhatsApp Community.
Have a wonderful week!
