Stonybrook School Weekly Update #9

On Monday, November 6th, Stonybrook School held its 1st Veterans Day assembly. The staff and students of Stonybrook School honored and recognized our Veterans for their service. We were fortunate to have several Veterans speak to our students about their service and to "Never Give Up" and "Always Make Your Mark." We hope all of our Veterans have a Happy Veterans Day.

This week our Fall Scholastic Book Fair was held. Thank you to KEHSA and to all of our parent volunteers who assisted in the Book Fair. It was a huge success! Our Stonybrook Student Council is collecting food donations this month. All food that is collected will be donated to the Kinnelon Food Pantry. The Food Drive began on November 6th and will end on November 16th. Thank you.

Our first PEEC fundraiser was held this week and it was a huge success. Thank you to all of our families who purchased bagels and for supporting our fundraiser! We also want to say Thank you to 5Brothers Bagels for the delicious bagels and for all of their assistance.

Our Holiday Winter Concert will be held on the following dates. The concerts will be held at the KHS Auditorium.

December 11th at 6:30 p.m. - Choir only.

December 13th at 6:30 p.m. - 5th Grade Band only.

November 14th: Board of Education Meeting

November 16th: Picture Retakes and all Class Pictures will be taken.

November 16th: K-5 Skate Night 6:00 - 7:30

November 22nd: Minimum Day for staff and students

November 23rd and 24th: School Closed for Thanksgiving.

December 13th, 14th, and 15th: Holiday Gift Shop

As the weather becomes colder, please label your child's coat or sweatshirt with their name/grade. As long as the temperature outdoors remains at 32 degrees and above, students will have outdoor recess. Please make sure that they have a coat/sweatshirt to wear.

Please label your child's water bottle with their name/grade.

Please make sure that your child has their Chromebook with them when they come to school each day.
