What I Need
Students in Mr. A's 5th grade class were taking ownership of their learning by using assessment data to work on areas of growth.
Artisan's Alley
Come join us on Saturday, December 2nd at Village Elementary School for Artisan's Alley. This event will be from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM and is a fundraiser for our music program. There will be a variety of vendors if you would like to work on your holiday shopping. There will also be a performance by our school choir.
Independent Study Contracts
If your student is planning a leave of absence that requires an independent study contract, please make sure that the office and teacher are notified at least five business days in advance so the teacher can prepare meaningful work for the missed time. Contracts that are turned in without adequate time hinders the teachers ability to organize meaningful learning activities for your child and adds to an already full workload. Contracts forms turned in after the five day deadline will not be approved and the absence will be unexcused.
In addition, contracts that are not fully completed will not be accepted to excuse the absence. Failure to complete the independent study contract results in a waste of time for all parties involved in creating the contract. If an independent study contract is not fully completed, subsequent requests for independent study may not be approved.
In short, there cannot be an adequate replacement for the learning that happens during the school day. please plan your vacations around the scheduled break times. If an independent study contract becomes necessary, please be mindful of the work involved and abide by the contract. Thank you for understanding.
