Principal's Message
Dear Bulldog Community-
I hope that you had a wonderful week. We have enjoyed going back to a regular schedule and to have all the testing behind us.
I wanted to share a shift that will be taking place in 6th grade. Mr. Slavnic has resigned his position at Galileo. We wish him well on his next adventure. Ms. Gross will be finishing the year as our 6th grade science teacher. Ms. Gross has taught 6th grade science at GMS for over 6 years. This year she wrote and taught our STEM class, and she has been working with students to get the garden cleared and ready to use next year. With that said, we will be collapsing the STEM classes and sending students to new electives or double cores for the remainder of the year. I know this is not ideal; however, this allows students to have consistent, rigorous instruction with our staff members through the end of the year versus daily subs.
Weekly Highlights:
- Tomorrow is grade level meetings. This is the last grade level meeting of the year!
- Our track team had a track meet on Tuesday. Great work, Bulldogs!
Upcoming Events:
- Our final School Accountability Committee meeting is on May 15th. We want to hear from you! We will be seeking feedback on our Unified Improvement Plan for next school year. This plan outlines our academic and family engagement strategies and goals for the year. Your feedback is important. Please join us!
- Please see all the flyers below. We have several fun activities coming up in May.
Reminders:
- We only have 16 school days before summer break. Attendance and engagement in class is extremely important. Please support us in speaking to your Bulldog about getting to class on time, staying in the classroom, and engaging fully. We want to "run through the finish line" and end the year strong.
Please reach out if you have any questions! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week.
In partnership,
Julia Scott
