Fox Family Updates for the Week...
Good Evening Fox Families, this is your principal Anita Roane with this week’s announcements and reminders. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable Labor Day weekend and the extra day off.
Families, we appreciate the amazing response that has been received to our online registration process this year. This is imperative to keeping our students safe and for their continued usage of the school’s technology. If you have not completed the process it is extremely important that you take a few minutes to do this as soon as possible. Also, as I am referring to safety, I would like to inform you that we will have a lockdown drill this week. PK-K do not participate in this first lockdown drill.
We are so proud of 2nd grader D'verasye Carter. He was named as the Student MVP for TeamLCPS last week. D’verasye is a great student and a kindhearted friend.
The Foxy Focus for September is Honesty. The students hear the following statement on the announcements each morning and are encouraged to incorporate it into their daily habits.
Honesty includes speaking and acting truthfully. Honest people tell the truth, even when there will be consequences. When someone is honest, you know that you can trust them and count on them to do what they say they will do.
We are so excited about the Den Fun Run and Cook-out scheduled for this Friday. We are thankful for all of you who have RSVPd. We are going to have an amazing time. As of right now, Mrs. Nemec's and Mrs. Atkins' classes have raised the most money for the Fun Run. Which class will take the lead and win the pizza party?
Please remember to show up right at 6:00, since the Fun Run will begin at 6:15. Remember to wear your den shirts for the Fun Run. If you do not yet have a den please wear a white shirt. We look forward to having a fun night with you all.
Remember that after September 15th, the membership fee to join the PTA will increase from $5 to $7. Feel free to continue to send in your membership forms. There will also be membership forms available at the Fun Run.
We are excited about Grandparents and GrandHeroes Day coming up on Friday. As a reminder please be prepared to pass through our Open Gate weapons detectors as you enter the building. Also due to space constraints please be sure to limit your guests to the adults listed on the RSVP form.
Our first LCPS Asynchronous Service Project of 2023 is almost here! Constitution Day, which is on September 17th, is a special day that commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution in 1787. Our students have been actively learning about the Constitution, our government, and what it means to be a proud American.
To celebrate this important day, we have a wonderful activity planned. We're asking our students to write letters of appreciation to our local government leaders. These letters will be a way for our students to express their gratitude and learn more about civic engagement.
On Wednesday, September 13th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, we are very fortunate to have our local government leaders visit with our students to engage with our Foxes and accept their letters of appreciation. It's a unique opportunity for our children to connect with those who serve our community.
A parent letter is coming home this week with your student with more details. We hope you and your Fox will join us for our first service project of the year!
With Fox Pride,
Anita Roane
Your Proud Principal
