Qmlativ Recap
- What is Qmlativ?
- Qmlativ is the latest evolution of Skyward’s Student Information System Software. This will require a complete overhaul of our software and system architecture, including servers, Skyward software, digital resource licenses, vendor agreements, and security.
- Why the change?
Qmlativ is the upgraded version of Skyward. The decision to move to Qmlativ was made to increase system performance, reduce steps to perform tasks, create more accessible data reporting, and increase data security.
- How many districts are currently using Qmlativ?
Currently, 72 WSIPC Cooperative organizations have successfully migrated their SMS data to Qmlativ. As of December 2022 an additional eighteen districts, of varying size, have migrated bringing total district usership of Qmlativ to 90 districts. Franklin Pierce Schools will migrate July 2023.
- How will we learn to use Qmlativ?
We are continuing to meet with groups of users to rollout Qmlativ training. User trainings for the following groups are coming soon:
Cabinet Members
Teaching & Learning Services
Transportation
- We heard your feedback and will soon be scheduling trainings for the following groups:
MTSS
Library & Multi-media techs
TLS – LSS Specialist/Supporting Staff
- Training includes self-paced instruction and guided practice in a sandbox database, Knowledge Hub training guidance and videos, Qmlativ video shorts, and more. A Qmlativ Canvas course has been established to organize these trainings resources.
- If you would like to ensure that the Data Team is aware of your specific role, please reach out to qmlativ@fpschools.org
Julia Sylstad - Office Manager, Brookdale Elementary
Julia shares her experience: “When I heard about the switch to Qmlativ I was originally very nervous, however the more time I spend in the training hub the more comfortable I am becoming with Qmlativ. I love that I have the chance to spend my own time exploring and clicking on things knowing that I will not be messing up any current information! Trying to complete the knowledge hub professional development courses, it has been very useful to have the training hub open at the same time so I can follow along. There is so much more to learn, and I am grateful for the new tools and trainings that have been provided. A huge thank you to our IT Qmlativ team for answering all of my questions and especially for unlocking my account (every time I try to log myself in).”
BIG THANKS to Julia, February's Qmlativ Champion, for all her hard work and preparation for the migration.
