RCS Middle School Principal's Office
Hello, RCS Middle School Parents & Guardians!
On Friday, January 17, 2025, the MS Student Council will be hosting a Dance at the RCS Middle School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
This dance is for current middle students ONLY.
Come join us for a fun-filled dance and activities night! There will be dancing in the cafeteria, and basketball and other activities in the gym.
Ticket Information:
$5.00 per student.
Tickets will be on sale starting the week of Monday, January 13, 2025 during lunch.
Please note: If a student had late detention (5:00), ISP, or OSS starting Monday, December 16, 2024 through Friday, January 17, 2025, they will not be allowed to attend the dance.
We would prefer to have students pre-purchase tickets. However, they will be able to buy a ticket at the door.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES FOR THE DANCE
- Upon entry, students MUST surrender their phone. Phones will be tagged and placed in a secure area. Students will be given a number that corresponds with the tag, which they will use to retrieve their phone at the end of the dance. Please note: If a student needs to make a call, they can be given access to their phone upon request.
- Students who are found to have a phone on them during the dance will be asked to call home to be picked up from the dance.
- Students MUST be in attendance the day of the dance.
- Students who are on the "chronically absent" list are ineligible to attend the dance.
- Chronic absenteeism is defined as missing ten percent or more of the academic year for any reason, including excused absences, and unexcused absences. Based on a 180-day school year, that means approximately 18 days per year or 2 to 3 days per month.
Ineligible list
(This information can be found on page 16 of the
2024-2025 Student-Parent Handbook, which is attached to this newsletter)
Students who are failing two or more courses at each 5 week interim or quarterly report will be placed onto an ineligible list. This ineligible list will make them unable to participate in co-curricular activities, dances, etc. After a period of two weeks students may pick up a co-curricular eligibility reinstatement form from the guidance office. The student must take this form to all of their classroom teachers and have it signed, verifying that they are now passing that course. When all teachers have signed the form students bring it to the guidance office where their counselor will check it for accuracy and sign it, indicating that eligibility is reinstated.
Students will come in at the main entrance. For questions, please contact Ms.Waddingham at (518) 756-5200 ext. 3021 or Ms. Carusone at dcarusone@rcscsd.org.
Hope to see you there!
