Endeavor Update

Mr. Garza graduated from Anahuac High School in 1997 and then joined the United States Army where he served in an amazing unit the 82nd Airborne Division. While there, he jumped from a perfectly good airplane into a dropzon over 25 times. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s degree 2006 and from Lamar University with a Masters degree 2015. He retired as a Master Sergeant in the Texas National Guard after doing 22 years. He served 2 combat tours all in Iraq and has also traveled to Hawaii, Honduras, Costa Rica, and across the United States.

All Endeavor students' attendance and academic progress are monitored every three weeks. Students not taking advantage of the opportunity to attend Endeavor will be sent back to CHS. The first progress check is on Friday, August 30. Parents will be notified if there are any concerns from their teachers weekly or as soon as they arise. Progress report grades will be accessible in Skyward on Sept. 5, but you can check them at any time. You can also check progress in Edgenuity for the classes that are not listed by following the directions in another section of this newsletter.

Beginning with our seniors, students are receiving their Graduation Checklist from the Endeavor counselor, Mrs. Salinas. Students are given this so that they can not only know for themselves, but to inform YOU of their graduation status. This is the only copy that will be given to them. Students are expected to bring their fully charged Chromebook every day to school. There are a few Chromebooks that are "Locking Up." Those issues have been reported to the technology department and will be corrected ASAP.

For the protection of our students, food deliveries and visitors who are not on a student's emergency contact list are not allowed during lunch. Along with students having an option for a free lunch, there are microwave ovens available in the cafeteria for students to use. Milk and fruit are available to students who bring their own lunch at no charge.
