Newsletter October 21, 2024
Hello Nashoba Community,
I want to echo the Superintendent's message about the importance of good attendance for the well being and success of our students. Over the past several years, this has been a goal of the high school administrative team and we have seen improvement in student attendance over the past few years. We have examined policies and procedures and have partnered with families in support of our students with the aim of improving attendance for each and every student and reducing chronic absences.
Reminder that the end of quarter 1 is coming up and students should reach out to teachers if they need any support or have some missing work. Students can also sign up for help during Flex block.
We are in week three of our three week schedule pilot, which has been going well. We will be asking for student and staff feedback through a survey the last week of October.
The link for parent-teacher conference sign ups was sent out this morning and will be open until 11:59pm on Friday November 1st. The link to Pick a Time is below and the conference schedule is as follows:

STOWcase, Wednesday, October 30th from 6-8 pm, is an opportunity for Stow residents to learn, or learn more about, what Stow has to offer. Consider bringing a friend who might not be familiar with all the Town has to offer. Children may come in costume for trick or treating. Visit https://www.stow-ma.gov/for more information.

NRHS Care Closet
Forgot to put deodorant on today? The school dance is coming up and you have nothing to wear? Cleaned out your closet and found that suit you only wore once? We got you!
Come to the library and 'shop’ at the care closet.
Need something? Take it! Have something? Leave it!
The closet has: personal care items, school supplies, clothing, grab and go snacks and more!
We are actively seeking donations.
If you are doing some fall cleaning, please consider donating gently used clothing (dresses, suits, dress shirts, as well as casual school clothing. You know you’ll never wear that DECA outfit again, but someone else will!)
When you go to the dollar store, (or is the $1.25 store?) consider grabbing an extra deodorant, box of pads, shampoo, or shaving cream and razors!
We are asking that ‘previously used' items be clean, and usable. (For example, a notebook that has plenty of life, with just a few pages ripped out.) Personal care items must be new, please.
Items for the closet:
Dress clothing for ‘events’ like a job interview, DECA competition, dance, sports games (athletes that need to dress up for the game).
Casual clothing
Mittens, hats, scarves, socks
Hygiene products: deodorant, period products, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, lip balm.
School supplies: notebooks, pencils, pens, paper, backpacks, book bags
Grab and go type foods: granola bars, cereal bars, individual size pasta meals, bottles of water.
When you use The Closet, you are being environmentally conscious, civic minded and participating in the vintage upcycle movement.
Come by and check it out!
Please see Ms. Landry with any questions!
