RCPS Newsletter
February 1, 2025
We have made it through the longest nights of winter and are seeing the sun for longer each day!
Term 1 Reports and Kindergarten Communication of Learning will be coming home this month on February 20th. Please be sure to check backpacks on that day and reach out to your child's/Children's classroom teacher should you have any questions.
At this time the RCPS staff would like to acknowledge the passing and offer gratitude for the many contributions of Shelley Newton, former parent, former School Council Chair and most recently School Council Community Representative. Shelley was a well respected member of the RCPS school community and her loss will be felt throughout the school community. Our deepest condolences go out to her family at this time.
Please see the information for below and as always, we thank you for your support and partnership in your child's education.
Thank you, Miigwech, Merci,
Mary Jane Corradetti
Principal, Roseneath Centennial P.S.

Tobogganing/Sledding - Permission Forms
We are lucky enough to have snow and a couple of small hills on our school site. We are also grateful to have been given a set of toboggans/sleds a few years back by a generous donor. Staff will be sending home permission forms for this activity and will be supervising during class time, adhering to a set of safety guidelines as set out by the Board and OPHEA. Should you choose for you child to participate in this fun winter activity, please complete the permission form and return to your child's teacher by February 7, 2025
Movie and PJ Day
We are excited to be having a school-wide Movie and PJ Day for students on February 14th. This event has been planned by our Positive School Climate Teams to support student wellness and belonging. Students will relax in their jammies and gather together and watch "Trolls" in the gym.
Positive School Climate Team and Bully Prevention and Intervention Plan
All schools and school boards must have a Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan consistent with Ministry policy and all school board policies (Education Act s. 303.3). The Education Act requires school boards to post their plans on their websites. All schools in KPR are required to complete and post a site-specific plan on their school websites by January 31 each year.
As such, we have created a Positive School Climate and Bullying Prevention & Intervention Plan that acknowledges the interconnected nature of positive school climates and bullying prevention. Our Positive School Climate Team will advise and work alongside the school administration to create a school-specific plan. The Team can also lead consultations with various parties and participate in the plan’s implementation.
Our Positive School Climate Team is made up of staff, students and community members who conducted a recent in-school survey of all students. The outcomes of this survey and our Board-wide school climate survey resulted in the creation of Positive School Climate and Bully Prevention goals and the creation of our school Bully Prevention and Intervention Plan which will be on our school website on (or shortly after, depending on IT) January 31, 2025.
If you have any question, please do not hesitate to call the office.
