Celebrating Métis Week
Learning more about the Métis culture!
Throughout this week the students have learned about the Métis culture this week during classroom activities. There has been a focus on language, artwork, and an overall appreciation of the identity of the Métis. We have a percentage of our students that are very proud of their Métis heritage and we are have learned a great deal about the resliency of how the Métis people and culture that is part of our community.
Throughout this week and every day, we are continuing to share this foundational knowledge and creating opportunities to participate in reconciliation activities that teach our students about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture and traditions.
Blessings,
Mrs. Kleparchuk, Principal
Mrs. Crowston, Vice Principal

Turn “what-ifs” into “even-ifs”!
How easy is it for doubts and fears to creep in when preparing to try and/or learn something new? Both inside and outside of school, children are often found in these situations which can be exciting, but also anxiety provoking and you may notice some doubts creeping in.
When your child is feeling anxious or doubtful, it is helpful to remind them that even if things don’t turn out the way they had originally planned, it will be ok.
Rather than being consumed by the “what-ifs'”, by helping your child shift to a “even-if” mindset will provide them the reassurance they need to know that no matter what the outcome is, they will be ok and they can persevere! Tune into Big Life Journal’s episode of ‘Overcoming Anxiety and Doubt’ on Spotify for more information on this topic!
