Dollenger says....
Hello NEHS!
We have had a terrific start to the new year. Students are building relationships with their new teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators. I am personally grateful for all the hard work by our families, students, and staff for our excellent beginning so far this school year.
The Interim Period for Marking Period 1 is fast approaching on September 30. We are asking students to check their PowerSchool frequently and to make sure they are turning in required assignments.
NEHS will be sending out electronic "Emergency Cards" for parents to update via email on Friday, September 20. We are asking parents to update any information by Monday, September 30.
We look forward to the 2024 Homecoming for all students next month; dance ticket sales start Sept 23 for Seniors! More information about tickets sales for Underclass students, Guest Forms, and flowers is located in the Upcoming Events section.
Lastly, we have several Upcoming Special Sporting Events that are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness and honoring our Senior athletes. Please come out and support our fall sports teams!
As always, we are proud to be NEHS!

This week in our AVID elective classes, students engaged in activities to organize themselves for academic excellence. Research has proven that organized students tend to perform better academically. It allows them to keep track of assignments, due dates, and study materials, ensuring they are always prepared for class. AVID students in Mrs. Reaser's class were tasked with picking four classes to stay organized using the binder system.
Hello North East Families!
We are the Action Club, an organization very similar to the PTA/PTO from the elementary and middle schools. Anyone may join our club (free of charge), but we are primarily a group of parents who work together to do all that we can to support and enhance the experiences for the students, staff, and local community of North East High School (NEHS). We are here to promote NEHS’s curricular and extra-curricular support for school-wide activities in an effort to improve school spirit, provide enrichment, and develop positive student, teacher, parent, administrative, and community relationships.

Let’s work together to eliminate unnecessary and unlawful absences!
Frequent absences can be a sign that a student is losing interest in school, struggling with school work, dealing with a bully or facing some other difficulty.
By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student may drop out of high school.
By 9th grade, attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores.
Missing 10%, or 2 days a month, over the course of the school year, can affect a student’s academic success.
