LHS Weekly Update
September 23, 2024
Trojan Time Advisory - Wednesday September 25th
This week in Trojan Time advisory, students will be completing the "digital readiness checklist" in preparation for testing October 9th. They will also have time to prepare for the test by going through a series of practice questions and test taking strategies. If you are interested, here is a great resource they can use to practice questions: College Board Educator Question Bank.
Why Attendance Matters
Longmont High School believes that good attendance is critical to academic success and to a successful high school experience. When a student misses a class, they miss a learning opportunity, which cannot be recaptured. Educational research indicates that a significant part of the student's experience is derived from classroom relationships, activities, discussions, and participation. Regular attendance is of utmost importance for school interest, social adjustment and academic achievement, particularly for closing the achievement gap.
Homecoming & Attendance Update
Any students who are planning on attending Homecoming on Saturday, October 19th will be allowed to have no more than 5 days of unexcused absences (4 period absences equals 1 day) and/or 25 tardies beginning August 19, 2024 in the 9 weeks leading up to Homecoming. Reminder, absences must be excused within 48 hours of the absence.
