Henderson County Schools Arts Fest Set for February 23rd
Henderson County Schools Arts Fest will be held on Saturday, February 23rd from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Henderson County High School.
The event will showcase the talents of preschool, elementary, middle, and high school students involved in band, choir, art, dance, and theater.
Community members and families are invited to attend Arts Fest. There is no cost to attend.

Volunteers are needed for HCS Reading Extravaganza Day on Friday, March 1st.
The Reading Extravaganza is in celebration of Read Across America Day, a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd— Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
Time: 8:00-10:00 a.m.
Where: Henderson County Elementary Schools
What to Bring: Bring your favorite children's book or use a book from the school and read for 20 minutes to a classroom.
Also, make sure to bring your identification when visiting any Henderson County School.
This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for community members who have a love of reading. Simply, pick a school, pick a book, and then visit a classroom to read on March 1st.
Please sign up to volunteer by February 28th.
Front Desk office staff will provide directions to your assigned classroom upon arrival.

SHARE YOUR FAVORITE TEACHER STORIES
In conjunction with the Henderson County Schools’ 2019 sesquicentennial celebration, the Depot Community Room is gathering stories and memories of your favorite teachers to be included in a display at the Depot Community Room.
Memories of your favorite teachers should include the teacher’s name, the name of the school where they taught, the grade you were in, and the year of your memory. It may include stories about events or special moments when they made a difference in your life. Pictures are welcome as well.
Stories may be submitted by U.S. mail (101 N. Water Street, Henderson, KY 42420), by email (donna@hendersonky.org), or by bringing it to the Depot Community Room Monday-Friday, 10 am – 4 pm and Saturday 10 am – 2 pm.
Submissions will be accepted through April 30.
