Dear Parents/Carers,
As we approach December, our festive calendar of events will come into play. We will aim to send reminders out as much as we can as we recognise that everyone is busier than usual at this time. Thank you so much for your kind tombola donations for our Christmas Fair today – I am sure that this will prove as popular as ever!
EYFS Stay and Play
Thank you to all parents and carers who attended our EYFS Stay and Play session on Monday. It was wonderful to see so many in attendance and for you to have the opportunity to spend time with your children in setting. All of the children continue to settle into their school life so well and I know how proud Mrs Taylor and her team are of their maturity and attitudes to learning.
Reading by Candlelight
On Monday, we welcomed children back in their PJs for our ‘Reading by Candlelight’ event. Two classrooms were transformed into comfortable, quiet spaces with t-lights and log burning fires glowing on teacher smart boards. The children read their favourite books to friends or to their teddies and enjoyed milk and biscuits together. This is a great way to celebrate and share favourite books and is a reading for pleasure opportunity at its best.
Parent Reading Mornings
Continuing the Reading theme, it was lovely to see so many parents and carers stop for our reading mornings this week. The children always enjoy their families being in school for these sessions. This is another way that we promote the children’s love for reading and sharing a book together.

Halfpenny Lane Calendars
Halfpenny Lane have entered into an Apprentice/Dragon's Den style competition in support of The Prince of Wales Hospice and in partnership with a number of local businesses. This has involved six of their Y5 children delivering a business pitch to a panel of judges in the hope of being awarded £50 to launch their chosen business product. We pleased to report the children performed brilliantly and were offered the opportunity to build a business!
