STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE SCHOOL VITALITY SURVEY
Dear Parents,
As you know, during this school year we are preparing for our school’s accreditation and beginning the Self Study process. This protocol is meant to meet the needs of our accrediting body, the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA), while helping to assess the quality of our programs. The accreditation process focuses upon assessing student success in meeting Schoolwide Learning Expectations (SLEs), Archdiocesan curriculum standards, and all governing authority expectations.
These concepts include the following:
To what extent is mission and Catholic identity infused into the total school program?
o To what extent are students mastering the essential academic content standards?
o To what extent is there evidence of adequate ongoing academic growth for all students?
o To what extent does the school support high achievement for all its students?
o To what extent is assessment data being collected, disaggregated and analyzed?
o To what extent are student learning decisions being made based on the analysis of the assessment data?
o To what extent are procedures and policies in effect to ensure the school’s operational vitality?
As we begin this process, we will ask for your input by completing the survey (linked below) as well as through focus group meetings designed to share your insights. Your participation is vital in helping us to analyze the school, its programs and impact on student learning. We look forward to the accreditation process and working with each of you as we strive to improve student learning.
Please complete this survey by Sunday, November 3rd. We realize this WCEA survey is rather lengthy and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We are most grateful for your time and assisting us in this process and look forward to sharing these results with you.
As a special “thank you” the students of those families who have completed the survey will enjoy a special treat!

VIATOR PARISH TUITION RATE REMINDER
The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes.
In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:
- Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
- Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
- Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.
DO NOT
- Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
- Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
- Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.
Tuition review will happen in November and you should have 13 masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed and possibly adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the December statement. Please DO NOT call or email the school office or church office to ask if changes are being made until after the receipt of your statement.
Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.

ARE YOU CURRENT AND UP-TO-DATE WITH TUITION AND FEES?
Important Reminder to Parents:
We kindly request that you verify your financial account (tuition, fees, scrip, morning and extended care, etc.) is current in FACTS. Please be advised that report cards will be withheld until all accounts are up to date.
Any questions or require assistance, please contact Mrs. Alex 702-732-4477 or ralex@stviator.org. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
YOUR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE MATTERS
Every absence requires an acceptable explanation, since the uniqueness of the learning experience in the classroom and the presentation of a lesson can never be recaptured after an absence. Students who do not have an acceptable explanation will not be readmitted to the classroom until a parent is contacted by phone. The school will consider a student’s absence as excused if due to illness, injury or family emergency. When absent, a student may not attend or participate in any school activity on the same day as the absence. It is the students’ responsibility to meet with each teacher to obtain missed work.
Excessive Tardies:
Students are considered tardy if they are not in the classroom before the bell rings. We ask parents to set a routine for on-time arrival to school. Instructional time lost to tardiness interferes with learning and community.
*** 5 or more tardies can result in detention.
