WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW FOR THIS WEEK

Saline High School has no power, all SWWC classes held at Saline High School are canceled today. All Chelsea and Dexter SWWC classes are running.
- Building Trades is still open and students are expected to attend. (Optional for Milan and Saline students due to there being no transportation provided from Saline High School.) *Updated 4/19/24 @ 11:51 a.m
- Cosmetology is still open and students are expected to attend.
- Health Science is still running at each clinical site and students are expected to attend. (Saline student attendance is highly encouraged to meet required clinical hours.)
Friday, April 19th - Dexter has a ½ day.
- Morning students are expected to attend their SWWC class, transportation will be provided for afternoon students however, it’s not mandatory that they attend.
- Monday, April 29th - No Chelsea students will attend any SWWC class.
- Friday, May 3rd - Manchester has an Early Release and Milan has no school.
- Tuesday, May 7th - SWWC Awards Ceremony at SHS during 2nd hour - 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (All SWWC students and staff should attend; seniors who have earned an 80% or higher in their SWWC class will receive a graduation cord at the Awards Ceremony.)
- Last day for seniors in our SWWC programs:
Chelsea - Last day with SWWC is May 23rd
Dexter - Last day with SWWC is May 22nd
Lincoln - Last day with SWWC is May 16th
Manchester - Last day with SWWC is May 17th
Milan - Last day with SWWC is May 24th
Saline - Last day with SWWC is May 23rd (May 24th for 1st and 2nd hour)
Apprenticeship Fair!
The Job Developers Alliance (JDA) is hosting their first Apprenticeship Fair next month on May 1st, 2024. The Fair aims to connect those who are looking for hands-on skills and experience in a trade or profession with local employers. Attendees have the chance to learn more about apprenticeship programs where participants would learn a skill or trade under a professional in the field on the job.

At Summer Youth Programs (SYP) you can explore your interests and experience college life at Michigan Tech. SYP is kind of like summer camp, but smarter.
Join us this summer for Explorations in Health Careers a rotational program designed to get you hands-on experience in the lab and classroom alongside Michigan Tech faculty and staff and students.
In this program you will:
Gain hands-on experience in the lab
Learn about a variety of healthcare careers and how to pursue them
Network with industry professionals as they share their stories and keys to success
Make new friends from across the country.
