Tawanka Times
4th Grade Intramural Football Champions played the Staff
After an epic battle, the Staff was victorious against the Champion student team. The lead was traded back and forth throughout the game and was tied until a buzzer beating touchdown gave the staff the win. Well Done Mr. Gregory for organizing the games every week and thank you to all of the staff who played.
Second Grade Butterflies
Second grade completed their insect unit by studying butterflies. They learned about the butterfly life cycle and observed some of the stages. As a culminating activity, we set the butterflies free in their natural habitat.
Thank you Veterans
Tawanka kindergarten class honors our brave Veteran heroes who live at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home.
After learning about veterans, the class wrote thank you notes and sent brightly colored pictures to these residents for Veterans Day.
Kindergarten Parent University
Thank you to all of the parents who were able to visit our first Parent University! We were able to share some of the things we work on here at school and provide parents with ideas for use at home as well. We appreciate your thoughts and feedback that night. We look forward to working together to make this a successful Kindergarten year!
Buddy Classes
Mrs. Wendling’s and Mrs. McHugh’s classes had a great time working together to create their own spiders and following directions to make them move! Both classes learned about how different spiders catch their prey before making their own spiders.
Third Grade Science
Physical Education
Tawanka students are doing a fitness circuit in the gym. They are strengthening their muscles, bones and their heart.

Pasta Dinner
A HUGE thank you goes out to Aramark for their donations, our Cafeteria staff for volunteering their time to help us in the kitchen and to our custodial staff who cleaned up after we left!
Thank you to all who served our families as well. This truly was a fantastic night!
Morning Announcers
First Grade Students are Thankful
After learning about all aspects of Thanksgiving with our Nearpod online program,
read alouds, Scholastic News, our Social Studies curriculum, and personal stories, more than 160 first grade students made historical costumes and gathered in our cafeteria for a Thanksgiving feast! Each class prepared a verse of a Thanksgiving song we all sang together. We are thankful for our school, friends, family, food, God, doctors, Earth, and our amazing recess and cafeteria staff who keep us safe and help us eat our lunches daily!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Book Fair
Thank you to the PTO, parent volunteers, shoppers, and custodial staff for making the Fall Scholastic Book Fair such a success!
EarlyAct Club
The EarlyAct Club will again be participating in the “Dunk Your Kicks” collection! Your donation of gently used pairs of sneakers (any size) can be dropped off in any of the collection boxes found throughout the school. Please tie each pair of sneakers together (or rubber band) before placing in the collection boxes.
The pairs of sneakers are sent to a company who then recycles them and sells them to other nations who otherwise may not be able to afford footwear. The proceeds from those sales are donated to The Max Cure Foundation; helping military families and those who have a child battling cancer.
