Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families- our first week of November is successfully in the books. As I was previewing the newsletter today the theme that stood out to me was “season of giving”. There are a significant number of drives happening to support our students and community in many ways. Many needs can be met simply by cleaning out some closets and drawers at home with new or gently used clothing. Other financial contributions can be made to support many of our students and families struggling with food insecurity (Bite2Go). This particular community drive will sponsor/support several hundred students in ALL of our East Region schools.
Service, and the spirit of giving of one’s time and energy, and some paying the ultimate sacrifice, was palpable today as we celebrated our Veterans during an all-school event. This is the most powerful and moving ceremony of patriotism and respect that we hold on our campus. The musical tributes are always the highlight. Our choir and band do an amazing job of setting the tone and connecting people to this moment through their music. We were also treated to an inspirational original poem written, and read by senior Alli Aitken. See her complete poem below! To be there in the presence of our veterans as we thank them and celebrate them is always very emotional for all involved. When I spoke with all our guest veterans who attended, they were overwhelmed by the support and so grateful. Many of our students took a few minutes afterward to shake hands and personally thank our guests. It moved many of them to tears and they described how proud they were and hopeful they are for this generation of young citizens. I’m extremely proud of our students who understand sacrifices that have been made for them.
There are some exciting and important upcoming events of interest. FIRST-- The Plot, Like Gravy, Thickens—our fall play, opens this week on Wednesday night, November 13. It runs the rest of the week nightly through Saturday, November 16. Don’t miss this amazing performance by our Ridgeline students!
On the 18th, Central Valley High School is hosting a night dedicated to educating parents and the public on the Fentanyl issues happening in our community and how are young people are at risk. It’s very much worth checking out to get the latest info on this community concern.
Did you hear about the Ridgeline Regiment Marching Band last weekend at the U of O in Eugene last weekend? Our kids truly rose to the occasion to compete with the best bands in our region. They were called to the field in a literal torrential downpour, and even with electronic equipment failing, they found a way to preserver through it all. Even though there events aren’t sanctioned by the WIAA, we have a group that is also STATE CHAMPS again! We’re very proud of the hard work and effort by our dedicated musicians, colorguard, and coaches to excel at such a high level! We’re also very excited for our volleyball, soccer, and cross country girls who have qualified for state! In my pic here, I had the pleasure of posing with coach, Whitney Abell, and varsity players Ryan and Jade. Good luck to our teams as they battle through the playoffs!
There are many more events for students in our region of all ages, and important information to stay on top off, so please skim the Flyer this week and every week to come!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Budgeting/Investing Lesson Benefits RHS Accounting Students: Thank You Numerica Credit Union!
We're excited to share that on Tuesday, our Accounting 1 students had a fantastic opportunity to learn from Jon Maroni and Joel Zins from Numerica Credit Union. They led an engaging budgeting lesson focused on future financial planning.
Jon and Joel emphasized a powerful message: our Ridgeline students are at a unique advantage with their youth. Starting to budget, save, and invest early can lead to significant financial growth for future goals, including retirement. This engaging lesson gave our students valuable insights and tools to make wise financial decisions that will benefit them for years to come.
