Hi Trailblazer Family!

I can't believe it's December; time sure does fly! I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! We have three weeks that will go by quickly and they are packed with activities. Christmas party information will be sent out soon. We hope to see all of our families at Sweets with Santa at SCE on 12/18!

Thank you for all that you do to make SCE the best place to be!

• Texas law requires students to be in attendance at least 90% of the time in order to receive credit for the semester.

• Attendance can be a better predictor of whether students will graduate from high school than test scores.

• Students in kindergarten and 1st grade who are chronically absent will not likely read at grade level by the 3rd grade.

• Texas is one of the few states in the country that funds its schools using average daily attendance.

• Texas law requires students ages 6-19 to attend school each day that instruction is provided. This also applies to students who are younger than six and have previously been enrolled in 1st grade and to students younger than six who are voluntarily enrolled in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten.

• Attendance also effects school distinction designations.

• Volunteer forms must be completed and approved
• Student checkout ends at 3pm
• Please drive slowly at SCE at all times and stay off of electronic devices

• 12/9: Blue Santa at SCE (see below for information)
• 12/18: Sweets with Santa at 6pm
• 12/20: Last day of school before Christmas break begins
• 1/7/25: Students return from Christmas break
