BEAR Talk
October 2024
From Mrs. Schrag
Fall is officially upon us and we are excited for what this next season brings. As we work really hard at RES to practice our safety drills I want to express my gratitude, on the behalf of staff, for your support as a community. We truly believe that safety of your children is our number one priority and we do our best to be as diligent as possible in that department.
With safety week coming up this month, we will have so many fun activities planned to educate your students on safety! Everything from fire to weather, street safety to an evacuation. The goal is to make learning fun, but intentional about our safety procedures here at school.
**Please practice your patience on the secondary dismissal drill on October 24th.
Our goal is NOT speed, it is SAFETY.
This will take longer than normal pickup so please plan accordingly.
The goal of this drill is to get all of our plans practiced so we can (hopefully never) have your students back to you safely if the building ever became unsafe. Please keep the goal in mind as you are waiting in the carline that day. ***We are practicing too***
I know that as a team, the RES community is unstoppable. I have seen many wins this month from fundraisers to celebrate children to academic growth with support in parent meetings. Truly RES is the BEST!
Thank YOU for all you do,
Cara Schrag

Family Advocate - Mrs. Trenckmann
I want to take a moment to highlight the critical importance of family engagement at home. When you actively participate in your child's learning journey—whether by discussing their school day, helping with homework, or encouraging their interests—you create a strong foundation for their success. Research shows that children with engaged families tend to perform better academically and develop stronger emotional resilience. Once a month we will have a school wide family engagement night. I encourage you all to participate at home having intentional family bonding. Please comment a picture of your family participating in these activities on our RES social media pages and your family will be entered into a drawing for a special prize.
