Marion-Mullins Rotary Club Honor Valedictorians and Salutatorians
The Marion-Mullins Rotary Club honored the valedictorians and salutatorians from Marion High School and Mullins High School at their annual scholarship ceremony. These students received scholarships from the Rotary Club and Robert E. Lee Law Firm. Congratulations to all the valedictorians and salutatorians for being shining examples of future community leaders.
Top Ten Seniors
The Marion County School District celebrated the Top Ten Seniors of the Class of 2024 at our "Top Ten Tea" with seniors, families, board members, and special guest Carmen Odom.

Aramark News
In May, Aramark hosted a taste-testing event at Marion Intermediate School and participated in STEM night at Palmetto Middle School. Until July 18, Aramark also provides meals at Johnakin Middle School and the Academy of Early Learning. All students are invited to enjoy delicious and nutritious meals to stay energized throughout the summer.

Creek Bridge STEM Academy
CBSA Beta Club and Robotics team members participated in the SC 4-H Engineering Challenge. Each student received an individual award in the categories for which they submitted work. The following students placed and received awards and additional recognition.

Marine Corps JROTC Program - Established in 1986, this program will conclude at the end of the current school year. It has significantly impacted our community over the past 38 years! Mullins High School will transition to an Army JROTC program.

Congratulations to North Mullins Primary School for achieving our district's highest average completion rate on i-Ready standards mastery checks! Special thanks to Mr. Donny Gerald for generously providing ice cream to the students and staff as a reward for their success.
Salary Study Phase 2
MCSD is pleased to announce that the Board of Education approved the recommended 2024-2025 budget at the June 24, 2024, board meeting. This budget approval allows us to implement Phase 2 of the three-part salary study increases to become more competitive. Thank you to the Marion County Board of Education and to our staff and know that we appreciate you!

Dr. Kandace Bethea, Superintendent, was the guest speaker at South Carolina State University's Spring 2024 Doctor of Educational Leadership Hooding Ceremony in May.
Meeting Street Scholars
MCSD is so proud of our Meeting Street Scholarship Recipients! An impressive group of our 2024 graduates, along with Dr. Bethea attended a special award celebration in Charleston. Each of these students will receive a $10,000 annual scholarship to attend some of the stateβs best colleges.
